Hamilton Demerara Rum 750ml

Hamilton Demerara Rum (most commonly the 86 proof bottling) is a bartender-favorite Guyana “Demerara” style rum distilled and aged at Demerara Distillers Ltd. (Diamond Distillery) as a blend of pot and column still rums aged up to about 5 years, bottled at 43% ABV with no added sugar.  It tastes deep and dark without being syrupy: think treacle/molasses, burnt sugar, dried fig and dark fruit, plus coffee, dark chocolate, roasted nuts, tobacco, and smoky oak with a dry, lingering finish.  It’s especially useful when a recipe calls for “Demerara rum” because it adds instant bass notes to cocktails—killer in tiki classics (Mai Tai/Zombie-style builds) and any rum drink that needs dark, spicy depth.
